Update March 2011: This photograph shot by me has been used so much around the internet and in commercial products without my knowledge or approval (except approvals given by writing personally to the requesters and to three cover books that are mentioned in my journal entries), so... I finally decided to put that ugly watermark on it. Thank you all for the interest and favorites given to this photo all over these years, Carlos.

I love these simplistic yet powerful photos. They seem to be able to tell you a story without any words. My favorite part about genealogy is discovering old photographs and trying to determine what the story behind them is. Sometimes I have to enlist the help of a photo restoration expert, but it is always worth it.
